The waitress noted our concern, but to my surprise the couple were still allowed inside and continued coughing even without a mask.

So we informed the staff of the matter that maybe they shouldn't let them dine within the restaurant because they are clearly showing symptoms of COVID-19. During my long stay in the waiting area, there was a couple in front of me that were consistently showing symptoms. I've been eating at Teppanya for a while now, but my experience today is where I really felt the need to write a review. Good food does not make up for poor service. It's better to reward people who plan in advance, isn't it? Teppanya doesn't, and for them, as long as the restaurant is full, customer's wasted time is irrelevant.Īnd since I don't like to waste my time, I'll just take my business elsewhere. Personally, I prefer restaurants that accept reseevations for the entire dining area, even if it means making the reservation way in advance. This way, there is opportunity for all, without wasting so much of the customer's time. But they do allow reservations for part of the dining area and the rest for walk-ins. There are many restaurants in the country that are also popular and have limited capacity. And not all diners would be willing to move their celebration, especially a birthday, to a different day. They fail to consider that not all diners have the physical capacity nor the luxury of time to wait 3 hours. We once attempted to walk-in with a 75 year old, and in order to get seats for dinner, we have to arrive and wait starting around 3pm. How can a family of 4 (including children) spend P12k? The alternative is to wait outside, for an average of 3 hours.

Yes, they can accept reservations but only for the private rooms, which come with a minimum required spend of P12k.

The reason is that they only accept walk-ins on Fridays to Sundays. However, in the last year or so, I have attempted many times - but failed - to make a reservation to dine. Teppanya Evia was one of my family's go-to places for birthdays and other important occasions pre-pandemic.
